Due to Hurricane Bill, there have recently been some minor changes to Cruise Itineraries announced on sailings departing from Northeastern US Cities. Cruising is the best option during hurricane season because the ships change itinerary and go around the storm. That can’t happen with land based Caribbean vacations.
As of now Carnival is stating that there will not be any impacts to itineraries from Hurricane Bill for all of the Carnival ships including the Carnival Pride out of Baltimore and the Carnival Triumph out of NYC.
The Norwegian Majesty and Norwegian Dawn left Bermuda early today to avoid Hurricane Bill. NCL is stating that they are not anticipating any impacts to the the NCL Bermuda sailings departing this weekend: Norwegian Spirit from Boston on August 21; Norwegian Majesty from Baltimore on August 23; and Norwegian Dawn from New York on August 23.
Royal Caribbean has announced that the Explorer of the Seas which departs Cape Liberty on Thursday, August 20, will sail a revised itinerary, with its ports of call simply reordered. The ship will visit San Juan, Puerto Rico, Sunday; Philipsburg, St. Maarten, Monday; Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, Tuesday; and Kings Wharf, Bermuda, Thursday.
Royal Caribbean is also telling those on the Grandeur of the Seas sailing on August 22nd to stay tuned for possible itinerary changes.

While cruising during Hurricane Season is popular with those of us in the industry because that is when we can find the best deals for ourselves, it can also be stressful. By the way, we all buy travel insurance. Hurricane Bill is now a large Category 4 Storm that is forecast to eventually swipe the Canadian Coast. This is currently good news for Caribbean Cruises. But it is stressful to have such a large storm churning so close to the islands. Hopefully, the forecasts are correct and Hurricane Bill will miss the Caribbean Islands and Bermuda. As of now, my Hurricane Cruise Tracker page with impacts to all cruise itineraries remains the same as yesterday.
Norwegian Cruise Line has made references that with Hurricane Bill’s current Projected Path some of their Bermuda Itineraries may be impacted. Due to the unpredictability of these storms, the cruise lines do not like to make changes until they have too. If you have specific questions about your upcoming cruise please leave them in the comments. I will respond quickly. Otherwise subscribe to CruiseSource.us to stay on top of up-to-date Hurricane Cruise News.
Hurricane Bill is strengthening, but it is projected to turn northward. The sooner the better for the East Coast. Bill could be one of those very rare Hurricanes that hits Bermuda, but only time will tell. As of now, the update from last night on the Cruise Hurricane Tracker remains the same…no new impacts.

It looks like Norwegian Cruise Line has the Bermuda Cruise Market cornered in 2009. NCL will have 3 ships sailing from Baltimore, Charleston, Philadelphia, NYC, and Bostonthrough the Summer and Fall. NCL recently won the award for Best Bermuda Itineraries for 2009. NCL is the only Cruise Line offering 3 days in Port in Bermuda.
With Rate as low as $549 per person this is a great year to kick back on the Bermuda pink sand beaches and relax in the warm turquoise seas on the most laid back Island off of the Atlantic Coastline.
For Golf-Lovers, NCL has teamed up with Callaway Golf to give golfers the option to rent Golf Clubs to Bermuda. Golfers can book Tee times at 5 featured Bermuda Courses including Mid-Ocean Golf Course and Belmont Hills Golf Club.
The value of these Bermuda Cruises is amazing. A flight to Bermuda would be almost as much as the cruise price. And with the cruise you are getting transportation, room, entertainment, and free food.
